Mark O’Donnell Vascular Surgery works with all the major health insurance companies in the UK and Ireland which are listed below. As a registered provider with these companies, Professor O’Donnell will invoice them on your behalf.
Please check with your insurance company regarding the level of coverage your plan provides. Do not assume that your policy covers all aspects of your clinical appointments or procedures. In some cases, your policy may document a financial “excess” attached to your cover which you, the insured, have a liability to pay. Such additional excesses may only become apparent after your insurance company has settled their account with Professor Mark O’Donnell Vascular Surgery. At this stage, you may receive an additional invoice to cover the “excess” difference.
Some insurers provide their cover in a different way where you, the patient, settle your account directly with Mark O’Donnell Vascular Surgery and the Healthcare Facility following your consultation or treatment. After provision of a receipt of payment, you then claim the payment back from them.
Benenden insured patients are now required to contact BUPA prior to treatment commencing. A number of current insurance companies have also introduced specific criteria to permit vascular surgery treatment in particular severity criteria and presence of varicose vein complications.
